ART JOURNALING

With Jenafer Joy

👋 Hello you fantastic Origins ladies! I'm absolutely honored to have been invited by Shiloh Sophia to create an Art Journaling series for this Training in my playful quick style. As with all my Inspired Inquiries, this series is designed to open up surprise information and a personal relationship with the profoundly mind blowing Origins curriculum!

For this Training we invite everyone to create your own gorgeous expansive chronofile of your explorations including documentation of your paintings, reflections on the curriculum as well as notes on calls and more. You can add these art journaling prompts right into the line up or keep them in their own section.

If you haven't started a journal, now is the time!

As listed in the Materials section, for this series you'll want a small selection of watercolor pencils (Recommended: Inktense style by Derwent) PLUS collage supplies (a few magazines, scissors & glue).

And yes please, do post your photos of your journal pages in the group.

Note that won't be any assignments that you will be required to submit on these prompts but you may choose to share them as part of your process.

Art Journal Prompt 01

Engaging the Constellation of Being Map

In advance of this prompt, please rewatch Shiloh Sophia's overview of the Constellation of Being Coordinates from the Constellation of Being Studio Arts Stream Two starting at 01:20:28 mark. You can download the pdf for reference as well.

Instructions

  • Pick one watercolor pencil and do a single line drawing representation of your physical body. This isn't meant to be realistic, it's a representation of this soma you call home.
  • Pick a second watercolor pencil, and draw a second version of how it feels inside your body! For this one, let the pencil lead.
  • (optional) stop and journal on what showed up in those two versions of you.
  • Grab a random magazine and hold your intention to connect personally to the Constellation of Being material. Intuitively choose five images and trim them out.
  • Finish by gluing each of the images onto the Soma and, referencing the map, label them. What images correlate to what part of the map and what information does that awaken?
  • Finish by journaling on these three questions (1) What image is the most provocative and why. (2) What image is connected to the soma body that it's glued onto (ie is there information about the body in one of the images)? (3) What image is most mysterious to you?
